Hi, I’m Abigail Oakley and I’m an academic. I’m not entirely sure that I’m a person apart from my academic identity, but that’s something I hope to work out over the course of grad school…

In December of 2013, I completed my M.A. in English, Rhetoric and Composition at Arizona State University. This is a blog to work out ideas and have open discussions about research, conferences, academia, and life as a graduate student in general. My research interests are varied and include (but are not limited to) digital humanities, social media, gender studies, and composition. In the Fall of 2014, I began my Ph.D in Writing, Rhetorics, and Literacies at Arizona State University.

I am originally from Ohio, and I earned my B.A. in English at the Ohio State University. I currently live in Phoenix, AZ and I quite like it here. There’s a great food culture and I enjoy trying out new restaurants and cuisine styles.  Some other favorite pastimes include spending time with friends and loved ones, knitting, and binge-watching series on Netflix.

Thanks for stopping by!
